BEN JOHNS CONGRATULATES PICKLES!

MEET BEN JOHNS: #1 Men’s Player in the world!

PRO 2016 | 40+ PPA TITLES | RIGHT HANDED | DOB 3.18.1999 - Laytonsville, Md

Ben Johns is currently the highest ranked men’s player in the world in all three divisions: singles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles. At only 22 years old, he is one of the youngest players on tour, but is quickly earning himself the title of “Greatest Of All Time.” Johns holds more Triple Crowns than any other male pickleball pro in history, with “Triple Crown” referring to winning gold medals in all three divisions – the ultimate triumph in pickleball.

Johns describes his creative style of game as having been “frankensteined” together by emulating different players’ signature shots and integrating shots from other sports. He credits two sports specifically for his rapid rise to the top: table tennis, in which he achieved a career high rating of 1900, and tennis, as a byproduct of helping his older brother Collin Johns train as a pro tennis player.

Johns is a senior at University of Maryland: College Park and balances a full schedule of classes in addition to traveling the U.S. as a pro athlete. Johns also co-owns two businesses, Pickleball Getaways (all-inclusive vacations with pickleball instruction) and Pickleball 360 (instructional video subscription service).

Outside of pickleball, Johns enjoys traveling, reading, weightlifting, MTG, other sports (including spikeball, golf, chess, and tennis/table tennis), and hanging out with family and friends. He is the middle child of seven children and grew up in Laytonsville. Maryland. Ben’s brother, Collin Johns, is Ben’s set doubles partner and Ben’s sister, Hannah Johns, works for the PPA Tour as a sideline reporter.
